CN 2747 Trivia Night Fundraisder, Friday, October 13th, 2023: This fun night of trivia will be held at the Transcona Legion (117 Regent Ave East). Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 for an individual or $180 for a table of 8. All proceeds go towards the CN 2747 Capital Campaign. October General Meeting Wednesday, October 4th, 2023: Our next General meeting is Wednesday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the CN Claude Mongeau National Training Centre ( the CN Campus), 650 Pandora Ave East. Our Guest speaker will be Doreen Landry from Diabetes Canada. Please do not arrive before 1:30 because seating will not be available until all the students have finished their lunch. Also please NOTE that a Dress Code is in effect at the Campus - no sleeveless shirts, shorts or sandals. Hope everyone has had a great summer and see you next week.
Christmas Luncheon Tickets will also be available for purchase at the October General Meeting as well as the November General Meeting. Cost per person is $20.00. The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at the Masonic Memorial Centre, 420 Corydon Avenue, Winnipeg. Deadline for purchase of tickets is Nov 15th. If you are unable to attend either the October or November General Meeting and wish to purchase the luncheon tickets, please contact Ernie Yakiwchuk, Special Events Chair at 204-254-1441.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Transcona Museum!
On Friday, July 14th, 2023, the City of Winnipeg and the Transcona Museum Board and staff are pleased to announce that CN will be the major sponsor for the CN 2747 Steam Locomotive protective enclosure with a contribution of $200,000 over four years.
The CN 2747 steam locomotive is an artifact of significant historical importance not only to the community of Transcona but to Canada. It was the first steam locomotive constructed by CN at the Transcona Shops and the first locomotive built in Western Canada in 1926. After 34 years of service, CN 2747 was retired and placed on permanent outdoor display in 1960. CN 2747 and the structure are located in Rotary Heritage Park at 735 Kildare Avenue West.
The Transcona Museum wishes to thank everyone who attended their announcement event yesterday. As well, they greatly appreciate all those who have supported the CN 2747 Protective Enclosure project - past, present, and future including Canadian National Railway Company, Russ Wyatt City of Winnipeg MP Daniel Blaikie Radisson MLA James Teitsma and Transcona MLA Nello Altomare.

Rocky Mountaineer CN Retiree Discounts: Please click here for the Rocky Mountaineer Discounts for the 2023 Season. These discounts are only available to contributing members of the CN Pensioners Association. Proof of membership will be required in order to qualify for the discount when making a reservation.
Bursary and Scholarship Program 2023: The 2023 programs are now closed. Results will be communicated to applicants by the end of the first week in September 2023 and successful recipients will be listed in our Manitoba Newsletter and National Newsletter.

CNPA Watch: The Barrie Council of the CNPA in conjunction with Pinnacle Awards Canada (owned and operated by Michael Poirier a VIA locomotive engineman and social member of the Barrie Council) have designed and produced a selection of watches specifically and exclusively for members of the CN Pensioners Association. Purchase is restricted to 'paid members' of the CNPA. There are three dial face choices (as shown) and they are available in both silver and gold cases. These watches are of Swiss quality and meet the standards for railway grade use.
The cost is $125.00 (includes tax & shipping in Canada). They can be purchased by contacting Robert Haggart of the Barrie Council: Email - rhag@rogers.com Phone - (416) 294-4676. Payment using 'E-Transfer' is preferred but can be discussed.
