PRAIRIE DOG CENTRAL TRIP REMINDER: Thursday, July 25th, 2024 is our Prairie Dog Central Trip. To those who are booked on this trip, please arrive at Inkster station NO LATER THAN 10:30 a.m. The train will depart at 11:00 a.m. sharp from Inkster Junction Station. PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING YOUR PDC TICKETS. The tickets will indicate which coach you are in as well as the row and seat numbers (see note below about the actual seating). We would like to get a group photo in front of the coaches.
As info, we have the entire Coach 107 but only part of Coach 106. That means that basically you can sit anywhere in Coach 107. The same applies in Coach 106 with some exceptions as we only have part of that coach as we will be sharing with the General public. The rows and seats available to us in Coach 106 are as follows:
Row 19 Seat 1
Row 20 Seats 1 and 2
Row 22 Seats 1,2,4,5
Row 23 Seats 1,2,4,5
Row 25 Seats 1,2,4,5
Row 26 Seats 1,2,4,5
(Note: There is no Row 21 or 24 in Coach 106).
Re the seating, a few of you may notice that you and your spouse / partner might be across the aisle from each other or in a different row. Our apologies about that, but because we have a few members joining us as solo passengers, when we were handing tickets out at the June meeting, they were just handed out in order. The good news is that as mentioned above, we can basically sit in any row / seat we want within the parameters of the respective coaches. Thank you for your understanding.
The train will run rain or shine so please dress according to the outdoor weather bringing along sunscreen and bug spray if necessary or a raincoat / umbrella if necessary.
As info, there is no ATM available at either Inkster Junction Station nor at the facilities at Grosse Isle. Washroom facilities are limited at Inkster Junction Station but more are available at Grosse Isle.
The volunteers at Grosse Isle serve freshly prepared sandwiches, Ceasar salad, chips and a drink followed by a bite size dessert.
See you on the 25th! All Aboard!
