Hockey Helps the Homeless 2025-2026: CN is once again the Premier National Partner for the Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) program. Basic information on both the program and CN’s involvement in it can be found on our national website at https://www.cnpensioners.org/cn-community/hockey-helps-the-homeless. There was also a brief article on the program in the National Newsletter that was mailed out in late August. In the web post, there is also a link to the HHTH webpage where you can find the cities, dates and facilities for each local tournament https://www.hockeyhelpsthehomeless.com/events-chronological/
The Winnipeg tournament is Friday Dec 5th at the Seven Oaks Arena. Volunteers can sign up through their website for various tasks, none of which are terribly strenuous and are generally for 8 hours and each volunteer gets a continental breakfast, a light lunch and a HHTH t-shirt. Any hours worked at the tournament qualify under the RRITC program and your charity could be receiving an additional $15 for every hour you work there and log into the RRITC program. If you do sign up, identify yourself as a CN Pensioner and the totals reflect your participation. Last year there were 46 CN employees and pensioners involved in 8 tournaments across the country.
It's an opportunity to support CN in their premier sponsorship event, an opportunity to raise some additional donations for your charity, and the three local charities affiliated with the event, and an opportunity to watch some pretty good “old timer’s” hockey and see and mingle with some NHL alumni who participate on each team.
