PICNIC UPDATE: Picnic is going ahead as planned!
If you are concerned about the weather as it is currently still showing rain tomorrow, we will do the best we can. We still encourage everyone to come out at least to enjoy the catered lunch under the shelter and of course partake in the prizes.
Ernie visited the area this morning and surprisingly the fields looked in good condition to play bocce - not sure about tomorrow though if the rain continues.
Unfortunately rescheduling is not a viable option and would be an administrative nightmare - finding another date which works for everyone, etc. As well the caterer will already have purchased the food for the event and will be in preparation mode, not to mention the cans of pop and water that Ernie has purchased to keep everyone hydrated.
A lot of work goes into the planning and execution of this event, so we hope that you will come prepared with your rain gear and “weather the weather” with us.
We do recommend however, that you stay tuned for any last minute updates.

Casino Trip Proposal: Please be advised that the South Beach Casino bus trip scheduled for September 2026 has been cancelled due to a lack of interest. There was no where near the minimum 47 passengers required to make this trip viable. Our apologies and if in the future we decide to try this again, we hope you/spouse will consider joining us.

Annual Golf Tournament: CN Pensioners Association Golf Tournament for 2026 to be held Friday June 26 at Whispering Winds of Warren G & C Club at Warren, MB, Dinner and Prizes. The charge this year for your golf, ½ a cart, dinner and prizes will be the same as last year; $112 each or $448 for a 4some. Get your foursome together. Please Note: All participates must be a member, spouse or associate member of the CNPA of MB.

Annual Picnic and Bocce Tournament: Our Annual Picnic In The Park: CNPA of MB will be holding their 12th Annual Picnic & Bocce Ball Tournament, Thursday, June 11th at St. Vital Park under the Aspen/Oak Shelter (RAIN or SHINE). This shelter is located at the south side of the park along the park roadway with the green space, providing ample parking and washrooms. Our banners will be visible at the site.
The Bocce Ball Tournament will start at 10:30 am to 3:30 pm with lunch being catered at 12:30. Please bring your lawn chairs, sunscreen, hats and mosquito repellent as we will hold this event, rain, or shine. We will have plenty of bottled water and refreshments for all. Draws for prizes. Come & join us for food, fun, prizes & reuniting with friends and coworkers. All paid members with their spouse /partner may purchase tickets which are $5.00 each and which will be available on May 6th & June 3rd General meetings at the CN Campus. For those unable to attend these meetings may purchase tickets by contacting Ernie Yakiwchuk at 204-254-1441.
Scholarship & Bursary Programs 2026: The 2026 Scholarship and Bursary programs open April 15th to receive applications and close for applications on August 13th, 2026.
