Avis / Budget Discount Rates Not Available for CN Retirees: Unfortunate timing, so soon after we promoted this discount in the Summer edition of our National Newsletter and elsewhere.
Budget/Avis has advised us, through CN, that due to a shortage in car supply, they are taking measures to ensure they can continue to supply their corporate customers and, as a result, they may not honor this discount code for a retiree. Once their car supply has been re-stocked to its previous levels, they may reinstate the discount. The codes will still provide a discount if you are booking online, because they are the same code used by CN’s active employees for business, but they may not be honored when you pick up your car, so, until we can provide any further information, use this as guidance when making your rental car choices.
Rocky Mountaineer – CN Retiree Discounts: The CNPA is pleased to announce that we have partnered with The Rocky Mountaineer, who operate a luxury train network with routes through the Canadian Rockies. These discounts are only available to contributing members of the CNPA and proof of membership will be required when making the reservation.
