Friday, June 4th through Sunday, June 6th, 2010 - Transcona's Homecoming Reunion 2010
Were you born in 1930, 1940 or 1950 and lived in Transcona? If so, then Transcona's Homecoming Reunion is for you!

In the dazzling thirties, Pennies from Heaven was a hit song and the ninth planet, Pluto was discovered. The roaring forties brought the men's Zoot suit and the sweater look was made popular by Lana Turner. In the fabulous fifties, you listened to Hound Dog by Elvis Presley and Disneyland opened in Los Angeles.

Transcona Historical Society was organized in 1930, new municipal offices opened in the former Bank of Toronto building at the N.E. corner of Bond and Regent in 1943, and the Transcona Public Library had its official opening in 1958.

These were the best of times. Wouldn't it be great to re-connect with your friends from the past? Transcona's 30's, 40's and 50's homecoming reunion will take place during the ever popular Hi Neighbour Festival on June 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2010.

Great events are planned such as a wine and cheese "Meet and Greet" on Friday, a dinner and a social event on Saturday with great entertainment, and finally a brunch on Sunday to wrap up the reunion. Please tell all your friends and family about this great reunion. For more information, please email mlrougeau@shaw.ca, phone 224-4405, or hdtorchia@shaw.ca, phone 222-1959.
